Surgery in Fairbanks

I am honored to be a member of the general surgery staff of the Fairbanks Memorial Hospital in Fairbanks, Alaska. Though Drs. Montano, Mayer, Robinette, Teslow and I all have separate practices we work together to bring the best of modern general surgery to Fairbanks. Dr. Kirschner offers her general surgery expertise as an assistant to many of the complex general surgery operations performed at our Hospital. As pointed out in the Seattle Times, April 2008, there is a critical shortage of general surgeons in the United States. In my humble opinion I feel that Fairbanks is blessed to have six general surgeons who call Fairbanks their home and who are all Board Certified and Fellows in the American College of Surgeons.

Fairbanks Memorial Hospital is an excellent institution offering well equipped operating and procedure rooms. The anesthesia staff members at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital not only hold the highest professional credentials, they are superlative in performance and competence. On eight occasions over the years, members of my family have undergone general anesthesia for operative procedures at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital. I was always certain that my family had the very best even though I never requested or specified a specific anesthesiologist.
