Jon F. Lieberman, MD, FACSDr. Lieberman is Certified by the American Board of Surgery in the specialty of General Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is an active member of the American College of Phlebology, the American Hernia Society, and the National Consortium of Breast Centers. His General Surgery Residency started at the University of Tennessee in 1985 and continued on to serve at Chief Resident in 1991. This included training in the surgical management of cancer, breast, venous and arterial, transplantation, trauma, hernia, intestinal, and gall bladder disease. He earned his Medical Doctorate from the University of Nevada in 1985. Prior to this he received a Master of Arts degree from Antioch College and Bachelors' degrees from the University of Oregon and Antioch College. In addition to the practice of medicine Dr. Lieberman serves on the Foundation of Fairbanks Memorial Hospital and is a Clinical Faculty member in the Department of Surgery, University of Washington School of Medicine. |

Jo Miller, PA-CJo Miller, PA-C is Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She maintains active memberships in the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Alaska Academy of Physician Assistants, the Washington Academy of Physician Assistants, and the National Consortium of Breast Centers. She has special interest and training in breast health and teaching. Ms. Miller serves as an instructor for the national Comprehensive Clinical Breast Evaluation Course with Clinical Breast Examiner Certification, and serves as a site instructor for Physician Assistant students. She graduated from the University of Washington School of Medicine MEDEX Northwest Physician Assistant Program in September, 2003, earning a Bachelor of Health Sciences degree. She worked in Montana as a Physician Assistant prior to making making Fairbanks, Alaska her home along with her husband and son. |
Barbara Thoma, RN, Clinical CoordinatorWe are honored and proud to have Barbara Thoma, RN as our clinical coordinator. She brings vast nursing experience and a golden heart to our team. Nurse of the Year 2008 was awarded to Barbara. Prior to Denali Surgical Specialists, Barbara and Dr. Lieberman worked together for over 10 years at Tanana Valley Clinic/Department of Surgery. She earned her nursing degree in 1966 from Columbia Hospital School of Nursing in Pennsylvania. In 1969 her husband was drafted and they were sent to Fairbanks, Alaska. She took a job in the old St. Joseph's Hospital, then called Fairbanks Community Hospital where she worked in the operating room and took call. Over the years Barbara has been involved in civic activities, especially those relating to community health. She enjoys crafts, cooking, and gardening-- but most of all she likes spoiling her grandchildren. |

Cindy Lamoureaux, Office ManagerCindy brings her practice management expertise to Denali Surgical. She has worked mostly in the dental field since attending the College of Great Falls Montana 1974. She moved to Alaska in 1976. She is a multitasker and wishes to apply her business skills and knowledge as a team member, endeavoring to make a positive difference in peoples' lives. She is a "can do" whatever it takes to make things right type of person. Children and grandchildren are very important to Cindy and her husband Virgil. As a true Alaskan she enjoys fishing in Valdez and going to the Farmers' Market in Fairbanks. She loves her dog and cat and is proud to have raised Rottweilers that she showed at the American Kennel Club. "Life is great and I thank God everyday for the Blessings He has given me, and I Pray I can make a difference in someone else's life." are typical words from Cindy Lamoureaux. |
